Each month, our leadership team gets together to select a team member who demonstrated unique and exceptional acts of customer service during the previous month. This recognition, known as our Shining Star Program, showcases a wonderful employee who went above and beyond the call of duty. Someone who exemplifies our mission of giving the best possible care and compassion to our patients, residents, and the community.

July 2019 Shining Star of the Month

Chase City Health and Rehab Center’s Shining Star for July is Mrs. Rita Jackson. Rita has been an LPN for 13 years and with Chase City Health & Rehab for over 3 years.  Rita loves gardening, cooking, and enjoys fishing with her mom, whom she loves dearly.  She was nominated after taking her day off to accompany a resident to a doctors appointment on two separate occasions.

A resident’s family member said, “Rita is phenomenal and has a great relationship with my mom. I do not worry about her care and Rita informs me of her condition frequently.”

A resident who nominated Rita said, “Rita is kind and helpful in many ways. She is a hard worker and never seems to mind if I interrupt her. She is very respectful and an asset to the facility & staff.”

One of Rita’s co-workers said, “Rita goes above and beyond for the staff and residents.  Rita is a family-oriented person at home and as well as at work.” 

When we asked Rita what she liked most about being an LPN, she said she enjoys the interaction with residents and the teamwork at Chase City Health & Rehab Center.
